Zvolen
When exploring the past, you should definitely consider a visit to Zvolen, one of Slovakia‘s oldest cities. Zvolen prides itself with having not just one but several European and Slovak records – the city has the largest castle complex and the largest square in Central Europe, the only replica of an armored train and the largest collection of roses in Slovakia along with other unique things that make a visit worthwhile.

Zvolen is a city located in the central part of Slovakia near the city of Banská Bystrica. Zvolen has a population of about 43 000.
Tourist attractions in the town and surrounding areas:
Zvolen Castle - This Gothic castle with Renaissance-era fortifications is located on a low hill neighbouring the south facing section of the city‘s main square. The castle was built in the 14th century as a hunting lodge in the style of an Italian city palace. The castle is listed as a national cultural landmark and it is a seat of Slovakia National Gallery.
Pustý Castle - This dominating historical landmark of Central Slovakia used to be known under the name „Starý Zvolen“ until the 19th century. In the late 12th century the castle was an important administrative centre of the vast territory, nearly identical to today's entire central Slovakia.
Kováčová Holiday Park - A thermal pool, wellness centre and water park
Sliač – A picturesque little town with a famous wooden church
Boky Nature Reserve - territory near the village Budča that is 15 minutes by bus from Zvolen. It features a unique natural formation – the Devil‘s Rock – and an educational nature trail
Poľana Nature Reserve - This area offers a variety of different activities for fans of mountain climbing as well as for those preferring more traditional hiking type activities.

Experiences of patients
I went for a dialysis vacation by the Orava dam in Námestovo. The medical facilities were first-rate, including the personnel, who were very friendly and pleasant.
