The city of Targu Mures lies in the central part of the Transylvanian Plateau, on both sides of the upper course of Mures River at an average height of 320 m. County seat of Mures county, Targu Mures is a powerful administrative, economical and cultural centre with about 150.000 inhabitants. The multi-national traditions and the intercultural features, the coexistence of several religious beliefs make up that particular Transylvanian spirituality which individualizes this town among other boroughs of Transylvania. Located in the heart of Transylvania and of Romania as well, at the junction of several national and European roads, Targu Mures is also a rail and airway junction. The transportation network ensures diverse connections due to the European 60 road, which connects Western and Eastern Europe. From this point of view, Targu Mures represent a unique advantage: at only a few kilometers in any of the four cardinal points, one can find plains, hills or mountains. The city offers diverse possibilities for recreation and fun in a varied range, from simple to sophisticated hunting games.
