The city of Sfantu Gheorghe is located in the depression with the same name, on both sides of the Olt River, at an altitude of 550 m. It is located at the intersection of several roads, the most important being DN12 road, connecting the city of Brasov with the city of Miercurea-Ciuc. The land and climate conditions have provided a favorable framework for the development of this city.
The city was first mentioned in a document in 1332, but archaeological discoveries prove human existence since the Neolithic period.
The importance of the city of Sfantu Gheorghe, located at the confluence of the connection roads between Transylvania and Moldova, has increased since the fifteenth century, when it was designated as borough (1461). In the seventeenth century, the city suffered two invasions: in 1658 the Tatar invasion, and in 1661 the Ottoman one, both of which were devastating.
In 1968, during the territorial-administrative reorganization of Romania, Sfantu Gheorghe became the county seat, and in 1982 a municipality.

The church has windows in Gothic style, a paneled and painted ceiling, and an 1894 organ, built by Josef Angster of Pecs.

I came to the Czech Republic with my daughter and underwent a total of 6 treatments in Uherský Brod. I was pleasantly surprised from the start. I was given some refreshments and the chair was very comfortable. The doctor spoke with every patient during his shift. I basically didn’t have any problem with the language because I had a translator with me and the doctor spoke good English.
