Wągrowiec lies in north-eastern Wielkopolska (Greater Poland), 50 km North from Poznań and 70 km from Bydgoszcz and Piła, almost in the middle of Warszawa-Berlin route.

Wągrowiec and its region’s big advantages are friendly environment, beauty of nature and picturesque landscapes. Numerous lakes within the area create conditions you could dream of, to have a rest and practice water sports. Much to the delight of anglers the lakes are abundant in countless fish species. Majority of lakes are situated among forests in a beautiful countryside, what makes footpaths and well-marked bicycle trails frequently visited by tourists.

On the outskirts of Wągrowiec European or even world scale hydrological phenomenon is present. It is called Wągrowiec’s bifurcation. Two rivers - Wełna and Nielba – cross flowing through one another. They don not join their waters but flow further down, each in its own direction. Few kilometres further Nielba eventually falls into Wełna.
