Nowy Tomyśl is situated in western part of Wielkopolska (Greater Poland), 60 km from Poznań, 200 km from Berlin, 120 km from border crossing in Świecko, and 360 km from Warsaw. A2 Highway running through the area of the community provides excellent communication with the rest of Poland and perfect international connection. Highway junction is located within 3 km from the town.
The town is well-known industrial and artistic design centre for wickerwork. Wickerwork has been in practice in Nowy Tomyśl area for about 300 years now. Currently, local wickerwork companies use wicker for the manufacture of haberdashery and very original furniture, the significant part of which is exported. In 2000, to celebrate the turn of the century, a huge wicker basket was woven, the impressive size of which (presented on the photograph) earned it a well-deserved place in the Guinness Book of Records.
The urbanistic arrangement of the oldest part of the town represents a valuable heritage of Nowy Tomyśl. It is formed by two market squares: the bigger of them – Plac Niepodległości (Square of Independence) and the other one - slightly smaller, Chopin Square, connected by Mickiewicza Street. Originally the town included several streets adhering to both squares. Few dozen buildings, mostly of the second half of the XIX and the beginning of the XX century were preserved in this oldest part of the town.
Besides, we recommend visiting Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, situated at the Chopin Square. It was built within the years 1778-1779 as Evangelical temple. It is a brick and plastered building, with a plan of Greek cross of even arms.

I came to the Czech Republic with my daughter and underwent a total of 6 treatments in Uherský Brod. I was pleasantly surprised from the start. I was given some refreshments and the chair was very comfortable. The doctor spoke with every patient during his shift. I basically didn’t have any problem with the language because I had a translator with me and the doctor spoke good English.
