Łódź is a capital of Łódź Province, located in Mid-Poland, third city in Poland in terms of population (approx. 750,000 inhabitants). It is an important academic and cultural hub. Łódź has a rich history, thus housing many interesting manor and sacred architecture monuments.
Piotrowska Street represents one of the longest promenades in Europe with eclectic and Modern tenement houses (kamienicas) of XIX and XX century.
Numerous palaces in Neo-renaissance and Neo-baroque style of the beginning of XIX and XX century include: palaces of Izrael, Maurycy and Karol Poznańscy, M. Goldfeder palace and palace of J. and G.Kindermann. Saint Stanislaus Kostka Archcathedral and Alexander Nevsky Cathedral represent interesting monuments of sacred architecture.
It is in Łódź, where the biggest Jewish necropolis in Europe (42 ha, over 200,000 buried humans) is located with Izrael Poznanski’s Mausoleum - the biggest Jewish cemetery building in Europe.
Also the huge shopping and leisure centre Manufaktura is considered a tourist attraction.

Last year my doctor suggested a spa, but my husband was on dialysis. I’ve never been anywhere by myself so I just put it off. By chance, my husband was offered a holiday dialysis stay. So we decided to both go to Teplice, and I think we’re going to go again this year.
