Legnica is a town in south-western Poland, in the central part of the Lower Silesia Province. The town has a population of around 100,000. It is a local academic centre. The town’s rich history and its monuments attract many tourists. Its climate is classified as one of the warmest in Poland – mean annual temperature exceeds 8,5 C there.
Among numerous, interesting and attractive buildings to visit we recommend:
Piast Castle – erected at the turn of XII and XIII. century. The most valuable elements of the Castle are the ones, which preserved their original form. They include Renaissance portal of the gateway funded by Frederick II, Prince of Legnica and Relics of late Romanesque Chapel of St. Lawrence and St. Benedict, preserved in the courtyard.
Kościół Ewangelicki Marii Panny (Holy Virgin Mary Evangelical Church) – essential body of the current church was constructed of brick in the years 1362-86, and current Gothic shape of the building, towers, and interior of the hall comes from the period of its reconstruction in the years 1824-1828.
St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral – as it stands - in the current shape the Church was built in the years 1333-1380. The Church’s structure abounds in historical elements of its furnishings and architectural details.
Kamieniczki „Śledziowe” (Herring Tenements) – the first mention of Tenements comes from 1574 r. Their name most probably originated from fish stalls, formerly present in the place where they were erected. "Śledziówki" are a complex of eight three-storey tenements situated in the central part of the Market Square.

Last year my doctor suggested a spa, but my husband was on dialysis. I’ve never been anywhere by myself so I just put it off. By chance, my husband was offered a holiday dialysis stay. So we decided to both go to Teplice, and I think we’re going to go again this year.
