What if this is the first time contacting B. Braun Avitum?

In case you are already decided where to go, just find your dialysis centre and send us your request. You provide contact information – name, address, telephone or email, and we will agree upon the best manner of future communication.

How long before my planned arrival should I first contact B. Braun Avitum?

We recommend that you contact us at least 2 months before your planned arrival.

However, this is only a recommendation as we are always prepared to work with your specific situation. If necessary, we can even arrange dialysis treatments within a week.

Can I travel using the B. Braun Avitum network several times a year?

Of course, our services are not limited in any manner and we will always be happy to offer you our services at any time.

What kind of services are offered by B. Braun Avitum?

At first we provide you the dialysis treatments at B. Braun Avitum network facilities. Few of our countries are also prepared to provide you with accommodation and information regarding transportation and suggestions for spending leisure time in the given locality.

Will communication be a problem at dialysis centers?

At every dialysis center you will find several nurses and physicians who speak English or German. It always depends where you are travelling. More information you could find at the list of dialysis centres in Our destinations. In the event of your planned arrival, we will try to adjust the shifts of our employees so that there will always be someone on hand who can at least speak English for foreign patients.

Where are all the B. Braun Avitum dialysis centers located?

We can arrange dialysis during your vacation at any of our dialysis centers in Europe. You will find more about the location of our facilities here.

Will I have someone to contact if any problems arise?

Our priority is to ensure that patients enjoy a pleasant, problem-free holiday dialysis stay. During their holiday dialysis stay, patients may contact the dialysis center directly. Or patients travelling to the Czech Republic and Slovakia can also call the Holiday dialysis Center (office) at any time (mobile telephone manned 24 hours a day +420-602 576 957).

What kind of transportation is available if accommodations are not right at the dialysis center?

We can arrange transportation by taxi or ambulance to and from the dialysis center.

What do I need to pack for the trip?

Immediately after contacting us you will receive information about documents we will need you to fill. We will need your medical data. Along with these documents we will also need a copy of your health insurance card, provided you are an EU citizen.

Please do not forget to send us the basic information about you and your dialysis already in the request.

We usually need your medical data at least 4 weeks before your stay. The medical report form should be filled out by your personal physician at your dialysis center.

In the event that any changes occur in your medical condition between the time you submit this form and your arrival, you must update the medical report at your dialysis center and bring this copy with you, or possibly have it sent to the contact address. We require this to ensure the maximum safety of all patients.

What kind of payment is accepted at dialysis centers?

In the event that you are an EU citizen and furnish us with an EHIC card (European Health Insurance Card), then you will not pay anything for your dialysis treatment. Otherwise, it is necessary to pay for dialysis treatment in cash at the dialysis center. We will always notify you in advance of the price for treatment.

Experiences of patients

I have a brother in Slovakia near Zvolen and we wanted to spend a week there during the summer. Thanks to holiday dialysis, we ended staying for the whole month, and we’ve already got plans to come back next year. For me, it’s like a vacation by the sea, but maybe even better.
